Something out of Nothing

This work comprises of Year 10 & 11 BTEC Entry Level Award & Certificate response to the following brief-

Try to do nothing…is it possible? What might nothing feel like? What might nothing look like? How might you make a piece of art that describes nothing? It could be said that as artists we make something out of nothing every time we create, but how might we make nothing out of something? A leading publisher of philosophical books has invited artists to submit work in any medium that could appear on the front cover of the new book by the celebrated existential thinker Paul-Jean Ertras entitled Something out of Nothing. You can make your work out of anything in any medium, however it does eventually have to be able to feature on the front cover of the book which you will also design. The publisher will accept multiple submissions from the same artist, so try out as many ideas as you can think of, try to make nothing.

All of the work is available for sale in a variety of formats including framed prints, printed iPhone cases, mouse pads and T-shirts. For further details or to place an order contact Dave Fudge – dfudge@ascenttrust.org
